Its been 2 months since Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico and the effects have been devastating. Many people have lost their homes, livelihood, and even their lives. We have all been shaken to our cores and are commitment to help Puerto Rico rebuild and recover has only become stronger. Like many Boricuas in the diaspora a few of us held a fundraiser last night and Javier Lopez, La Marqueta Retoña, Vive Borikén - Puerto Rico and I, Melissa Montero would like to thank everyone for coming to Puerto Rico Fundraiser: The Diaspora Responds in La Fonda Boricua. We were able to raise over $6,500. Proceeds will be given to three organizations on the island: ISER Caribe, La Brigrada Solidaria del Oeste and Casa Pueblo.
